Lluís Ortega
(Spain)
Lluís Ortega, PhD from UPC, combines architectural training with a background in philosophy. He has lectured and conducted research in Spain, Austria, the US, and Argentina, and contributes to editorial and curatorial initiatives. His writings explore architecture’s relationship with digital culture. Ortega has led international teams for cultural projects such as the inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial (2015) and the Spanish Pavilion at the 2014 Venice Biennale, where he served as associate curator and lead designer. He is Associate Professor of Architectural Design at UPC, where he directs MADE and serves as secretary for the European Prize for Urban Public Space at the CCCB.
Julia Capomaggi, PhD Cum Laude from UPC, has received numerous international awards and developed projects in Spain, Switzerland, the US, and Argentina. Her work was selected for the 2014 International Architecture Biennale. She is currently Serra Húnter Lecturer in Architectural Design at UdG.
Together, they lead JL-Office as a platform for advanced design thinking, cultural research, and architectural innovation. Their projects have been awarded, published, and exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale 2025 and the World Capital of Architecture, Barcelona 2026.
