Elizabeth Añaños

Elizabeth Añaños Vega is an architect, urbanist, lecturer, and public management specialist with extensive experience in the design and implementation of public policies in housing, education, health, and urban development. She is the Executive Director of SITe, a firm specializing in territorial studies and urban development projects that operates at the intersection of infrastructure, social policy, and spatial planning through a strong place-based approach.

She has held senior leadership roles in the public sector, including National Director of Educational Infrastructure at Peru’s Ministry of Education, where she led nationwide programs and introduced innovative solutions such as prefabricated modular systems and strategies to expand access to basic services in rural, remote, and emergency schools. She later served as Vice Minister of Housing and Urban Development of Peru, leading the formulation of the National Housing and Urban Development Policy to 2030 and the Sustainable Urban Development Law, both approved in 2021. She also worked as a senior advisor to Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, focusing on public investment in rural areas and territorial development.

Añaños Vega was co-curator of the XIII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism under the theme Climates: Actions for Good Living. In 2025, she was selected as a Global Eisenhower Fellow in recognition of her leadership and innovation in urban and social policy in Latin America.
