Max Núñez

Max Núñez (b. 1976, Santiago) graduated as an architect from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2004. In 2010, he earned an MSc in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York. Since then, he has led Max Núñez Arquitectos, a practice recognized with the Design Vanguard Award from Architectural Record (2017), the Design Award from Wallpaper Magazine (2013, 2018, 2020), and the Building of the Year Award from ArchDaily (2023).

The studio has won several public competitions, including the Atacama Regional Museum in Copiapó and the Library, Archive, and Regional Repository of Los Ríos in Valdivia. Its work has been featured in international publications and documented in two monographs: Max Núñez Arquitectos, Pista de Despegue (Editorial Constructo, 2015) and Max Núñez Arquitectos, Colección de Ideas (Editorial ARQ, 2018).

From 2016 to 2020, Núñez served as Head of the Master’s Program in Architecture at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he continues to teach.
