Baukunst
BAUKUNST is an architectural office established in Brussels in 2010. Combining art and technology, dialoguing and interplaying various forms of knowledge, BAUKUNST is committed to explore architecture as a medium with which both to think about building (BAU) and build ways of thinking (KUNST).
This particular approach has been recognised internationally on multiple occasions, with awards such as the 2020 Equerre d’Argent (Housing category) and the 2025 Brussels Architecture Award (Major Intervention Award), as well as several nominations for the EU Mies Award, along with numerous monographic exhibitions (Brussels, Paris, Lisbon and berlin) and publications, including 2G magazine.
The opportunity offered by the Mineral Challenge research enables BAUKUNST to contribute its experience in designing buildings using reused structural components, full-scale prototypes, and context-responsive construction systems. Across scales and contexts, and through a synthesis of research, experimentation, and built work, BAUKUNST pursues an architectural approach that combines structural expression, technical precision, and a commitment to material efficiency.
