BC is BC Architects & Studies & Materials, standing for Brussels Cooperation—embedded within place and people. The studio is a hybrid practice, designing and undertaking “acts of building” aimed at systemic change in the construction sector. BC strives for bioregional, low-tech, circular, beautiful, and inclusive design. Their work combines thinking and making, including design, community organization, material production, teaching, and prototyping.

BC Architects is committed to bioregional architecture rooted in the environment. Projects respond to social contexts and emerge from hands-on processes that reconnect architecture with craftsmanship and local sourcing. Each project acts as a prototype for systemic transformation, rethinking architectural practice by crafting elements on-site using local earth, fibers, and timber. Project sites become places of learning and shared authorship.

BC Studies is a nonprofit laboratory exploring the material environment through construction, production, and teaching. It functions as a platform for critical inquiry, hands-on experimentation, educational programs, workshops, and published research.

BC Materials is a workers’ cooperative scaling earth construction to reduce environmental impact. With a diverse team, it provides solutions through consultancy and development, design and prefabrication, bespoke production, and training. This expertise enables innovation and the development of the circular earth product range Léém, commercialized with Brickz and produced by Vande Moortel and Claesen Betonbedrijf.
