Peris Toral Arquitectes
PERIS+TORAL ARQUITECTES is a Barcelona-based architecture firm founded by Marta Peris and José Toral, dedicated to researching new ways of living through innovative construction methods, with a focus on housing and addressing the climate emergency.
José Toral is Associate Professor in the Department of Architectural Projects at ETSAB–UPC, specializing in public space and urban projects. Marta Peris is Lecturer at ETSAB–UPC; she completed her PhD in 2016, titled The Japanese House Through the Films of Yasujiro Ozu, later published in 2019 as Ozu’s House. Both serve as Guest Professors at EPFL Lausanne for FS24–SS25.
Their work has received international recognition, including the RIBA International Prize 2024 and the Spanish Architecture Award CSCAE 2022, and they were finalists for the EU Mies Award 2022. Projects have been exhibited at the Cité de l’Architecture, Paris (2022); Best Architecture Exhibition Spain–Korea, Seoul (2021); the Spanish Pavilion, Venice Biennale (2016 and 2025); and UIA Tokyo (2011), among others. Their designs and writings have been widely published in national and international journals and media.
