Urban System Lab is an urban research and design studio founded in 2015 by Dr. Timon McPhearson. The studio develops systemic solutions to the social and environmental challenges that drive inequity and injustice in cities. It collaborates with researchers, policymakers, designers, and communities to co-create data-driven tools, research, and transformative strategies that strengthen science communication, enhance decision-making, and support urban resilience and adaptation.
Urban System Lab operates internationally, engaging projects that address the complex interconnections between people, infrastructure, and the environment, while promoting equitable and sustainable urban futures.
