SCAPE is a collaborative landscape architecture and urban design practice that shapes socially vibrant and ecologically restorative places. Every scale is essential: from 100-mile river corridors to rooftop plazas, the studio combines design excellence with deep ecological knowledge to regenerate, connect, and transform the built environment.

The studio is biased toward action, implementation, and learning by doing. To address the climate crisis, society must simultaneously transition to a renewable economy and adapt landscapes for the changes to come. SCAPE partners with cities, non-profits, and developers to physically transform our world, centering biodiversity and love for the natural world as a climate solution in all projects.

For two decades, SCAPE has pioneered an immersive vision of living within nature and helping cities thrive in the gradient between land and water. Founded by Kate Orff in 2005 with the belief that nature can heal itself if aided, the firm has grown to a team of over 85 landscape architects, urban planners, and ecological advocates, headquartered in New York with offices in New Orleans and San Francisco.
SCAPE has been honored with some of the highest awards in the design field, including the Obel Award (2023), the National Design Award (2019), and many others.
