LBA is a practice dedicated to spatial research, architectural design, and project development. Intentionally transcending geographical and disciplinary boundaries, the studio seeks to expand conventional definitions of project-making through DIY culture and eclectic methodologies as emancipatory tools. Firmly grounded in architectural history, LBA engages with contemporary popular culture as well as vernacular traditions and craft practices. Viewing architecture as a form of social action, the practice places political, social, and environmental considerations at the core of its work.
LBA has received major international recognition, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale and the Swiss Art Awards, and is a finalist for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards 2026. The practice’s work has been exhibited at prominent institutions and events, including Concéntrico Festival 2025, the Swiss Architecture Museum, Art Basel Design at Large, CCB Lisbon, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and MUDAC Lausanne. Its projects have been widely featured in leading international digital and print publications, including Dezeen, Architonic, Designboom, ArchDaily, DETAIL, PLOT, Arquitectura Viva, The Architectural Review, Wallpaper…, and have been the subject of a dedicated 2G monograph.
