Ritual and the Choreography of Space
Language: English
Simultaneous Translation: French, Spanish, Catalan
In dialogue, Matilde Cassani, Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, and filmmakers Bêka & Lemoine examine the spatial conditions through which ritual, routine, and collective life take shape. From Cassani’s research on sacred spaces in profane buildings, to Bilbao’s community-led construction of spaces for living, to Bêka & Lemoine’s films, which follow routines as architecture-in-use, the session brings together three practices attentive to the ways space is shaped not only by formal decisions, but also through gestures, thresholds, rhythms, and repeated acts. In doing so, it asks how design can register, support, and reframe forms of shared life that often unfold through use, occupation, and everyday choreography.
