The Superior Council of Architects of Spain (CSCAE) has presented the latest developments of the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona at the General Assembly of the International Union of Architects (UIA), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Spanish delegation was led by CSCAE President Marta Vall-llossera, alongside the Dean of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC), Guillem Costa Calsamiglia, and architect Pau Sarquella, a curator of the Congress.
In her speech, Vall-llossera emphasized architecture’s fundamental role as a tool for social and environmental transformation. She encouraged all UIA member countries to participate in the upcoming Congress set in a time of global challenges.
Costa Calsamiglia underscored the Congress as a crucial platform to highlight architecture’s transformative power in shaping sustainable communities, while Sarquella detailed the event’s thematic structure and speakers’ selection process.
