Infraestudio
Infraestudio is an art and architecture studio based in Havana, led by Anadis González Márquez and Fernando Martirena. Founded in 2016, the studio pursues a transdisciplinary practice spanning architecture, art, research, and exhibition-making. Their work addresses the political, material, and social conditions of the built environment in contexts shaped by informality, scarcity, and institutional constraints.
Infraestudio has completed architectural projects alongside exhibitions, artworks, workshops, and lectures presented internationally. In 2021, the studio was selected as fellows of Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. In 2022, they exhibited at LIGA, Espacio para Arquitectura, in Mexico City. Their project House B has been nominated for the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize and ArchDaily’s Building of the Year.
The studio has been recognized by major international platforms, including Architectural Review, which named Infraestudio one of the 10 Best Young Practices in the World (2024), and ArchDaily, which included them among the 25 Best New Practices (2023). Members of Infraestudio have led lectures and workshops in Berlin, at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), and at Cornell and Princeton universities, contributing to academic and professional debates on architecture as a critical and cultural practice.
