Although architecture is often associated with the analog world, it remains the essential container for enabling all the operations required in a hyper-connected and highly technologized reality that seeks to construct a parallel digital realm. This includes pioneering research centres and data management facilities, as well as the infrastructures that transmit such data—now part of a global market in which information is more than ever the foundation of power.

As a backdrop, the enduring presence of primary goods persists: the shipping containers in the harbour and the travellers aboard cruise ships that arrive in the city each day, paradoxically emptying it of content.
