Public architects will assemble in Barcelona on 1 July for Finding Common Ground – Public Architects in Dialogue, a focused exchange on architectural quality, climate resilient planning and regenerative design. Designed to turn parallel conversations into collective action, the event is co-hosted by EIT Culture & Creativity and the World Cities Culture Forum, as part of the UIA World Congress of Architects Barcelona 2026.
Across Europe and beyond, public architects are confronting shared challenges in shaping sustainable, inclusive and beautiful places. From Copenhagen to Gdańsk, and through the momentum of the UIA World Congress, a growing movement has highlighted the need for deeper international collaboration in architectural quality, climate-resilient planning and regenerative design. Yet many practitioners still work in parallel, unaware of how aligned their questions and ambitions truly are.
This special gathering, hosted by EIT Culture & Creativity and the World Cities Culture Forum as a collateral event of the UIA World Congress of Architects Barcelona 2026, invites public architects to surface common ground and imagine new forms of collective action. Through an open, interactive format, participants will explore shared challenges, principles for meaningful cooperation, and pathways that move beyond networking toward real impact. Bringing together European policy reach and global city-to-city learning, this event marks a unique opportunity to shape the future of public architecture together.
