Ruth Schagemann

Ruth Schagemann is Managing Director of the Brussels Liaison Office of the Federal Chamber of German Architects (BAK). She served as President of the Architects’ Council of Europe (2022–2025).
An architect trained at the University of Stuttgart, she works at the interface of professional regulation, EU policy and architecture. She also coordinates the European Network of Architects’ Competent Authorities (ENACA), promotes Baukultur, high-quality planning and the role of architects in shaping sustainable cities and rural areas.
