Material continuity, reuse, and transformation emerge as shared concerns across these contributions, each examining how existing environments can be reworked without erasing their histories.
One project explores the adaptive afterlife of post-industrial steel infrastructures through recycling and civic reprogramming, while another reflects on the rehabilitation of an industrial warehouse through low-cost, adaptable construction systems. Parallel research on spatial archives and everyday environments similarly frames the built landscape as a resource rather than a tabula rasa. Together, these positions open a discussion on how architecture can operate through recalibration rather than replacement, negotiating memory, economy, ecology, and collective use as active drivers of spatial change.
