Bicycle itinerary aimed at understanding the delta of the Llobregat River and El Prat —which has historically been Barcelona’s orchard— as a terrain of very present tensions between a declared and protected natural space and the continuous appropriations that human beings have made of it, and continue to make: from small-scale agricultural exploitation to large-scale mobility and transport infrastructures with significant environmental and landscape impact, such as the airport and the freight port.
In this context, the delta emerges as a fragile yet robust example of resilience, where nature reasserts itself by being brought back into value through recovery and renaturalisation projects carried out in recent years.
