Concluding Becoming Attuned, this plenary session, led by Enrique Walker and Matilde Cassani, will articulate a critical understanding of the track’s sixteen sessions through an open discussion shaped by the two Research by Design investigations, the two Emerging Workshops, and the broader questions raised throughout.

In this context, De Vylder Vinck present ENTR’ACTE ATTI’TUDE ATTU’NE as a manifesto for an architecture understood through availability, interval, and precision: a practice grounded in economy of means, precise interventions, and a deliberate renunciation of total control, capable of leaving room for inherited meanings, present needs, and futures not yet defined. Atelier Bow-Wow, in turn, approaches Nocturnal Tokyo as a research project that responds to increasing summer heat by exploring nocturnal forms of urban life. Combining comparative fieldwork with analytical and speculative drawings, it examines the night as an urban structure shaped by accumulated trajectories, contingencies, and unplanned behaviours. BeAr Architects, meanwhile, investigates the souvenir and ornament as sites of tension and discontinuity, producing speculative micro-monuments as present fictions for Barcelona. Bangkok Tokyo Architecture, finally, explores distributed authorship through iterative and exchanged generic constructions assembled from ordinary leftover materials.

Taken together, the plenary positions Becoming Attuned as a form of active and empathetic engagement that listens to landscapes, stories, needs, and cultures, and embraces uncertainty and the ordinary as conditions from which meaning can be produced in spatial practice.
