Román Meyer Falcón is an architect graduated from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), with a Master’s degree in Creative Management and Urban Transformation from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona.

In the academic field, he has worked as a professor at the Ibero-American University, where he taught courses on Social Urbanism, focused on strategies for crime prevention and social inclusion in communities with high levels of violence and marginalization.

From 2018 to 2024, he served as head of SEDATU, Mexico’s youngest federal ministry. During his tenure, the Urban Improvement Program carried out over 300 urban development plans at municipal, metropolitan, state, and regional levels across the country. In addition, nearly 1,300 public spaces were built from Tijuana to Chetumal — projects that have received over 270 national and international awards and mentions in architecture and urbanism to date.

Currently, he holds the position of Head of the Urban Infrastructure and Public Space Projects Unit (UPIUEP) at the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), where he collaborates with various government agencies on the development of urban infrastructure projects, such as the new stations for the new passenger train lines and new models of health and education buildings.
