The event will be attended by Jaume Collboni, Mayor of Barcelona; Sílvia Paneque, Minister for Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat de Catalunya; and Iñaqui Carnicero, Secretary General for Urban Agenda, Housing and Architecture (MIVAU). Representatives of the organisation will also speak: Marta Vall-llossera, President of the Higher Council of the Orders of Architects of Spain (CSCAE) and President of the Congress; Teresa Táboas, Vice-President of the UIA International Union of Architects and Vice-President of the Congress; and Guillem Costa Calsamiglia, Dean of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC) and Director of the Congress.
The UIA2026BCN curatorial team — Pau Bajet, Mariona Benedito, Maria Giramé, Tomeu Ramis, Pau Sarquella and Carmen Torres — will present the official programme of the Congress, which includes lectures, workshops, exhibitions, itineraries around Barcelona and its surroundings, celebrations and parallel activities.

The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona officially presents its programme on 27 April at the headquarters of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC). Institutional authorities, representatives of the organisation and the curatorial team will take part in the event, which will unveil a programme bringing together more than 250 international participants across more than 100 sessions structured around the six thematic axes of the congress.
