Practices of Attention
Language: English
Simultaneous Translation: No
Different contributions approach territory not as a fixed physical substrate, but as something continuously mediated, interpreted, and re-articulated through acts of perception, representation, and sensory attention. Systemic readings of environment intersect here with photographic, audiovisual, documentary, and speculative practices that examine how places are understood through listening, translation, narrative, and visual framing. Across these works, territory emerges less as a stable background than as a field of relations whose meanings shift through cultural mediation and situated experience. Rather than simply documenting environments, the session considers how inherited readings of place may be displaced through images, sounds, and other forms of inquiry that make visible alternative spatial imaginaries.
